Lok Sabha elections are expected to be held in India between April and May 2024 to elect the members of the 18th Lok Sabha (Lok Sabha Elections 2024). The tenure of Lok Sabha is going to end on 16 June 2024. The last Lok Sabha elections were held in April-May 2019. After the election, the National Democratic Alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party formed the central government, with Narendra Modi remaining the Prime Minister (PM Narendra Modi).
There are 6 national parties contesting the elections, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, Communist Party of India (CPI(M), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), National People’s Party (NPP) and Aam Aadmi Party (). Among these parties, BJP and Congress are the main contenders for the elections (Lok Sabha Elections 2024 National Parties).
